Individual Counseling for Justice-Involved Individuals

Life during or after incarceration can bring unique challenges, from adjusting to new routines and relationships to finding your place in a world that may feel unfamiliar or even unwelcoming. These experiences can leave you feeling stressed, uncertain, or weighed down by the past. Individual counseling offers a supportive, judgment-free space to talk openly, process your experiences, and develop strategies for moving forward. Sessions are one-on-one, confidential, and designed to help you build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and create a future that feels meaningful to you.

WHO THIS SERVICE IS FOR

This service is designed for youth and adults who are preparing for re-entry, adjusting to life after incarceration, or under community supervision. You may be experiencing:

  • Stress or overwhelm related to re-entry and adjusting to life outside

  • Feelings of stigma, shame, or low self-worth

  • Strained or complicated relationships with family, friends, or partners

  • Depression, anxiety, or lingering effects of past trauma

  • Substance use concerns or fear of relapse

  • Difficulty breaking old patterns or cycles of behavior

  • Uncertainty about the future, career, or personal goal

Whether you’re trying to reconnect with loved ones, build stability, or simply find peace within yourself, counseling provides a safe space to focus on your growth and healing.

The Value of Counseling

Therapy is not about judgment—it’s about support. In our work together, you’ll gain tools to handle challenges and build a stronger foundation for your life ahead:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Learn to recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns, manage stress, and build healthier coping skills.

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): Discover your strengths and create small, achievable steps toward positive change and re-entry success.

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI): Explore what truly matters to you, strengthen your motivation, and take meaningful steps toward your goals.

By working together, you’ll walk away with practical strategies for managing life’s challenges, improving your well-being, and building a future that reflects your values and vision—not your past.
